He learned a lot as War Food Administrator through the research being done at the George Washington Carver Institute on soybeans as a dairy substitute.
The dairy industry tried to stop him by engaging him in a number of lawsuits after he started using this non-dairy substitute. However, he still won every case that was placed against him and he was able to turn his business into the industry leader.
When Robert Rich invented Rich's Whipped Topping, he also started the Rich Products Corporation . Although it was not immediately successful, business eventually picked up.
Robert Rich was able to diversify the product offerings of the Rich Products Corporation by continuing to introduce non-dairy products to the market, including Coffee Rich and other items that can be found in households all across America and other places in the world. Another notable characteristic of the business is that Robert Rich managed to keep it all in the family.
Although most family owned businesses have been sold to major multinational conglomerates, Robert Rich managed to keep his enterprise afloat. In fact, this business leader also enjoys a wide distribution network of his products, where they are sold in 85 countries globally.
Aside from this, the product line has expanded exponentially with over 2,300 products that they manufacture.
